Jan. 24--A North Carolina specialty grocer will open its first Lehigh Valley store late this year, emerging as a possible rival to Wegmans for the affections of fresh-food fanciers.
The Fresh Market, of Greensboro, N.C., plans to open a store by year's end in the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley, a lifestyle center in Upper Saucon Township, spokesman Eric Blaesing said Monday.
That mall is under construction in the Stabler Corporate Center, near Interstate 78, with a planned opening in late October.
