EMPLOYERS WHOSE group health insurance policies came up for renewal at the end of December have something to celebrate--if a cost increase can be good news.
Local insurance agents say--and Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield confirms--that premiums increased less for 2006 than they did in 2005. And Arkansas' group premiums remain lower than the national average.
"I would say that the health care industry has been very, very good in Arkansas for the past three or four years, which is the longest ride I can remember," said Greg Hatcher, owner of The Hatcher Agency in Little Rock, which has more than 500 group health insurance clients.
