The major consortium of Big Island macadamia nut growers, which has been selling its whole crop to one company, will now sell to many companies. Hilo-based ML Macadamia Orchards LP has for years sold its entire macadamia nut harvest, an average 21 million pounds a year, to Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corp., which last year became a subsidiary of Hershey Co.
