Foods for toddlers again held center stage in 1992.

Although the new product introductions in the baby foods category were down in 1992, last year saw more product innovation than in past years.

In 1992, New Product News reported 53 new baby food introductions, down from 1991's total of 95 new products. It should be noted, however, that 1991 was a banner year for baby foods--the five-year average total for the category is 57 products.
