SANDY, Utah--PayLess Drug Stores' long-awaited prototype, a 27,000-square-foot unit (with some 23,000 square feet of selling space) that company executives hope will redefine drug store retailing in America, opened in this Salt Lake suburb last month amid much fanfare and celebration. With good reason. It is undeniably quite a store.
