BARTUSH-SCHNITZIUS FOODS CO., Lewisvilte, TX was the recipent of a warning letter from FDA's Dallas office following an inspection of its facility on Sept. 8-13. FDA inspectors found serious violations of the seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulation. Accordingly, the firm's yaus surimi (vacuum packaged imitation crabmeat and salmon) and seafood salads and dips are adulterated, in that they have been prepared, packed, or held under insanitary conditions whereby they may have been rendered injurious to health.
