Jan. 25--Home furnishings retailer GDC is trading spaces.
The Charleston-based merchant, saying it has run out of room at its 10-year-old West Ashley store in St. Andrew's Center, plans to relocate to the recently closed Rhodes Furniture outlet on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard by late spring.
GDC bought the building near the Highway 171 spur last week from a North Carolina investment group for about $2.4 million, said Harry Gregorie, president. Gregorie said he plans to invest another $500,000 in improvements at the Sam Rittenberg site.
