Jan. 26--SPRING VALLEY LAKE -- Less than a week before the Spring Valley Lake Association board of directors faces a recall election, recall proponents claimed the board violated state boating regulations -- and a lawyer's advice -- leaving property owners liable for a potential lawsuit.
The point of contention centers on the location of buoys in the lake.
The association had kept buoys 100 feet from the shoreline, rather than 200 feet required by regulations. Because the buoys were closer to the lake's edge, waves from motor boats can damage the shoreline, private docks and lakefront property, according to Robert Read, ...
