Time running out for candidates to file for Preston County races.

Jan. 27--KINGWOOD -- Today is the final day the Preston County clerk's office will be open to accept filings for the May primary election.

The clerk's office is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on the second floor of the courthouse. Candidates can still be on the ballot if their application is mailed and postmarked by midnight Saturday. As the clock winds down on filing, the Preston County Commission race has several candidates on both sides of the ticket, but only four have filed for the three seats open on the Preston County Board of Education. The latest candidate to file for the board was Robert "Mac" McCrum, of Kingwood, in the Fourth District. ...
