Michael W Wynne assumed the duties of Secretary of the Air Force in November 2005. He is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy. West Point, N.Y. and separated from the Air Force as a captain and assistant professor of astronautics at the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1973. Following his Air Force service, Secretary Wynne worked for the aerospace industry for more than 20 years, holding positions at Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics.
