Microprocessor solutions company AMD (NYSE:AMD) and technology solutions provider HP (NYSE:HPQ; Nasdaq:HPQ) announced today (30 January) that they have generated more than USD2m to support the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF), a cancer survivor support foundation.

The funds have been generated through sales of the HP Special Edition L2000 Notebook PC powered by AMD Turion 64 mobile technology.

The companies said that the availability of this notebook will be extended through June 2006.
