Jan. 31--A new development planned for 76 acres at the north end of Crown Hill Cemetery has some Butler-Tarkington residents concerned about upscale designs they say don't fit the character of the historic neighborhood.
Brenwick Development Co. recently asked the city to rezone the unused cemetery land. The change would allow the firm to build 73 single-family homes, 142 townhomes and a small retail center on one of the city's largest swaths of undeveloped space within five miles of Downtown Indianapolis. The land is just south of 42nd Street, running from Michigan Road to Clarendon Street.
