Action learning, an experience-based group process, offers an alternative to traditional management training.
Action learning is well-known in the United Kingdom--now it is coming to the United States. The process is called action learning because it is based on the idea that managers learn better by doing. The "doing" in action learning consists of real problems, generated by management, that are acted on in conjunction with traditional classroom instruction.
