Feb. 1--Construction will start soon on a new Target store on Southfield Road.
The Southfield City Council approved site plans Monday for the 126,370-square-foot store that will be located between 12 Mile and 13 Mile at the site of the former CMI Health and Swim Club.
The council also voted to rezone the 11-acre lot from office to business use.
Greg Tilsch, regional real estate manager for Target, said the retailer hopes to start the project within the next month.
