Consumers seem willing to invest in the more durable tools to repair their homes. Professional contractors want quality at a fair price, and are willing to spend more for tools that have better backup support from retailers and manufacturers. Some retailers sacrifice profit margins in power tool sales, but recoup profits by increasing profit margins in hand tools.
