DIPLOMAT and courtier Henry Neville (1562-1615) was a distant relative of William Shakespeare.
The first child of Sir Henry Neville and Elizabeth Gresham, he was a direct descendant of John of Gaunt, son of Edward III.
Henry grew up at Billingbear House in Berkshire, was educated at Merton College, Oxford, and sat in Parliament as member for New Windsor, Sussex, Liskeard, Kent, Lewes and Berkshire.
