Feb. 1--ROCKWOOD -- The president of a Middlecreek Township fire equipment company has been charged with theft after police said she failed to pay for a vehicle used to build a fire truck.
Betty Jo Sanner, 41, of Markleton contracted in October 2004 to convert a $45,000 International truck owned by Tri County Motor Sales of Johnstown into an engine for a New Jersey fire department, authorities said.
Sanner -- president and office manager of New Lexington Fire Equipment Co. -- was to pay for the truck when the work was completed.
The fire company paid Sanner for the refurbished truck, but she failed to pay Tri County, Somerset County Detective ...
