Feb. 1--Dear Action Line: Monday's column on W-2 forms being due from employers reminded me of a situation. What do we do when an employer takes off with our withholding money and tax time rolls around? -- L.N., Tulsa. This is a rare event, but when it does happen, the Internal Revenue Service is there for you. If the W-2 from your employer indicates that federal taxes and other taxes have been withheld, the IRS will credit the employee as having paid those taxes, IRS spokesman David Stell said.
