Feb. 2--DECATUR -- A disabled student continues to be at odds with Millikin University over the best place to reside with her service dog.
Catherine Nielsen, 22, a legally blind student with epilepsy, was prepared Jan. 20 to receive a golden retriever to help her live a more independent life.
Nielsen notified the university just days before that the service dog would arrive on Jan. 20.
University officials said having a service dog is not a problem, but Nielsen should move to a different dorm room. Nielsen refused to move, and the dog has left the campus for now.
