PARIS - It took more than three years to find just the right location, but Marc Jacobs' first European store, which opened on the stately Palais Royal here last week, is exactly where the designer and his business partner, Robert Duffy, wanted it to be.
The 2,000-square-foot space on the west side of the arcade may be far from the traditional retail avenues in the City of Light, but that's exactly how Duffy, who used to lunch in its gardens when working in Paris, wanted it.
