WASHINGTON, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Governor M. Jodi Rell and federal Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt today hosted 600 Connecticut health and community leaders at a Hartford summit meeting aimed at preparing the state in the event of an outbreak of "pandemic" influenza or other disease.
Acknowledging that pandemics can happen and require a strong local response if they do, Governor Rell and Secretary Leavitt signed a resolution committing the state and federal governments to joint planning and response initiatives.
