Feb. 2--GALESVILLE, Wis. -- Employees and government officials have been notified that Northern Engraving Corp. of Sparta, Wis., plans to close its Galesville factory in April.
The shutdown is expected to eliminate 132 jobs, according to a notice the state Department of Workforce Development received this morning from Northern Engraving.
"They're going to transfer the work to Holmen (Wis.) and Spring Grove (Minn.)" plants, said Jerry Hanoski, executive director of Workforce Connections Inc. His La Crosse-based agency assists job-seekers and employers in an eight-county area.
