Audit Chamber inspects Evraz steel mills (Part 2)
MOSCOW. Feb 2 (Interfax) - The Audit Chamber found during an inspection at three steel mills run by No. 1 Russian steel producer EvrazHolding that flaws in tax law were enabling these companies to make considerable tax savings.
Vladimir Panskov, an auditor from the Chamber, told Interfax that the holding's Nizhny Tagil (RTS: NTMK), West Siberian and Novokuznetsk steel mill were inspected for the periods 2004 and January-September 2005.
He said the mills had exported most of their steel via a trader that was a member of the EvrazHolding but registered in a tax haven (Gibraltar). The steel was ...
