Feb. 3--The recent North Texas Future City Competition turned into a geography bowl this week with some students and parents asking: How can the winning team from southeast Texas now represent North Texas at the national competition?
The team from The Westwood School in North Dallas is especially upset after losing first place by one point to a school near Houston. That school will carry the torch for North Texas at the national competition.
Sunday's contest in Arlington drew teams from all over North Texas. Future City is an engineering outreach program designed to encourage student interest in science and math.
