MINNEAPOLIS -- Today, Minneapolis Public Schools announced that more than 21,000 students will participate in this year's Presidential Active Lifestyle Award Challenge. A kick-off assembly was held at Marcy Open School, 415 4th Ave S.E., today. Mayor R.T. Rybak was in attendance along with representatives from General Mills, the University of Minnesota and Minneapolis Public Schools.
The Presidential Active Lifestyle Award Challenge is a six-week fitness program that encourages second through eighth grade students to reach the goal of one hour of physical activity, five days a week. This is a cumulative total for the day and can include physical education ...
