NEW YORK-The case has yet to reach trial, but Maurice R. Greenberg's battle with prosecutors is intensifying, with the former American International Group Inc. chief last week accusing New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer of colluding with AIG in the probes that led to Mr. Greenberg's ouster.
Mr. Greenberg, who left his post as AIG's chief executive officer last March amid mounting investigations of the insurer, faces charges in a civil lawsuit filed by Mr. Spitzer and New York State Insurance Superintendent Howard Mills alleging that the longtime AIG executive "routinely engaged in misleading accounting and financial reporting'' ...
