Self-contained power units from Chicago-based Roberts Electric Co. are built to handle the punishment and high torque requirements of tugs, dredges and other workboats. These new heavy-duty hydraulic power units are capable of variable volume from 0-to-13 gpm to handle the requirements of cable and boom winches, thrusters, pumps, dredging equipment, steering mechanisms, etc. The pressure compensated pump is adjustable from 1,500 to 3,000 psi, which automatically reduces gpm to near zero when the system approaches maximum psi.
