Sammy was the king of his kind. He swam with fiery confidence, swagger.
A betta in crimson and steely blue, he was a gift from a colleague who wanted me to know that the flashy tropical fish with the showy "finnage" are people-friendly, interactive.
I laughed.
"We've found they do have a lot of personality," said Bill Sanders, a member of the Akron Aquarium Society (www.gaas-fish.net). "I have my betta bowl on top of my fish tank, and he'll follow me around the room. If I sit down, he's right over there looking at me."
