Detroit, Mich. -- Super Bowl XXII MVP Doug Williams was standing in the back of the Ambassador's Ballroom inside the Marriott Renaissance Center on Saturday afternoon when Warren Moon strode to the podium as the Pro Football Hall of Fame's first black quarterback.
"I feel like part of me is going in with him," Williams said. "This is a great day."
Williams, the first black quarterback to start a Super Bowl when he led Washington over Denver in January 1988, later weaved through the crowd to congratulate Moon on his rare first-ballot selection, and to celebrate the toppling of another racial stereotype.
