On average, the highest-ranked nursing homes in Minnesota tend to cluster in southwestern Minnesota, while the lowest-ranked homes are in the metro area.
And on average, homes owned by nonprofits and by cities or counties rank higher than privately owned homes, an examination of the state's new Nursing Home Report Card shows.
But does that mean that for the best care you should head for Northfield or Ellsworth instead of St. Paul, or for a church-owned home instead one owned by a for-profit corporation?
