FIRMS are cashing in on Valentine's Day by hiking up the price of chocolates by as much as [pounds sterling]28, an Evening Standard study has revealed.
Our examination compared the prices of Valentine's gift boxes with standard boxes of exactly the same chocolates.
The investigation took in stores from supermarkets to specialist boutiques, and we also searched online. We found that while Marks & Spencer adds an extra 89p for wrapping its Swiss chocolate truffles in heart-shaped packaging, the House of Chocolates website ramps up the price of 250g of Godiva chocolates by more than [pounds sterling]28, or a huge 146 per ...
