Article: Italy heads into the new year on a positive note.(economy)

There is cautious optimism coming out of Italy these days in regard to the health of the country's economy. A December 22, 2005 Bloomberg News report said that, in fact, Italy emerged from recession in the second quarter of 2005. The same report said that it was likely official statistics would show December 2005 business confidence on the rise. If this is so, it would be the seventh month in a row that the country's businesses were positive about future prospects.
