Feb. 11--Bryan window and door maker Alenco is changing hands, a move that will keep the company operating independently while helping it grow, officials said.
Ply Gem Industries Inc. announced this week that it was paying $120 million for Alenco, one of Brazos County's biggest employers. The Missouri-based corporation is a large manufacturer of residential and exterior building products.
Alenco, which has been in business under various owners for nearly 50 years, will operate as an autonomous, independent arm of Ply Gem, officials said.
