Mitsui, Evraz request EC clearance for Yakutia coal JV
BRUSSELS. Feb 14 (Interfax) - Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and Evraz Group SA have requested clearance from the European Commission to form a joint venture to develop the Denisovskoye coal deposit in Yakutia, the European antitrust agency said.
A decision should be reached by March 16.
The Luxembourg-registered Evraz Group S.A., which controls No.1 Russian steel producer EvrazHolding, signed a joint venture agreement with Mitsui to develop the Denisovskoye field in September last year.
