He was there less than 20 minutes, speeding through classrooms as he chatted with teachers and the district's superintendent.
But Winfield Elementary District 34 administrators hope a brief Friday afternoon appearance by State Superintendent of Schools Randy Dunn could focus legislators' attention on funding a long- promised $2.3 million construction grant.
Dunn has been stumping around the state trying to drum up support for school construction funding.
District 34 is among 24 school systems that received state commitments for capital projects in 2002 but still haven't seen the money. ...
