For most of the past decade, Michigan State has been the measuring stick in Big Ten men's basketball. The Spartans have been largely unrivaled in how they defended and rebounded. And coach Tom Izzo's players always play hard and physical.
That's why the Gophers' 69-55 victory over the No. 12 Spartans on Saturday at Williams Arena was so gratifying.
