In a new joint venture between publisher Random House and film company Focus Features, a unit of NBC Universal, two books are set to be adapted for the big screen.

According to Reuters, one novel scheduled for adaptation is The Attack, a French novel by Yasmina Khadra - the pseudonym of a former Algerian army officer - about the aftermath of a suicide bombing for an Arab surgeon. The book is set to be released in English in May this year.
