A bill to give Spotsylvania and Fauquier counties permission to charge builders for road improvements their neighborhoods need passed unanimously in both a House committee and in the full chamber last week.
Unanimously. As in 99-0.
It was a different story in the Senate committee on local government. There, little old Suffolk - as it has from time immemorial - was after the same kind of tool to deal with its own burgeoning growth.
You would've thought the very future of the commonwealth depended on defeating Suffolk.
