According to the information from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the EU started to prohibit the sales of 320 pesticides in its domain from December 31st, 2005. More than 60 varieties being produced, used and exported in China today are included. There are 31 insecticides and many varieties of fungicides and herbicides. Pesticides whose sales are prohibited by the EU include omethoate, triazophos, fenpropathrin, profenofos, EBP, haloxyfop-methyl, oxadixyl, fenaminosulf and others.
