Nexans has signed a EUR18 million contract with Thailand's Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) to supply a submarine HV link between Khanom, on the mainland, and Ko Samui Island, Thailand's third-largest island, in the Gulf of Siam. For this contract, Nexans is participating in a consortium with Italian Thai Development PCL, one of the major builders of Thailand's infrastructure.
Nexans is supplying and installing 24km of 115kV three-core XLPE power cable and related accessories. This cable consists of three 240mm[less than or equal to] copper conductors with a single layer of galvanized steel wire armor, including a 24 fiber-optic cable. This new HV link will ...
