Feb. 17--Al Pollard, whose diverse eateries served a corned beef sandwich at one address and sesame-crusted seafood and pineapple martinis at others, died in his sleep Wednesday night or Thursday morning, said his friend and business attorney, Neal Keesee.
"This was a sudden, tragic event," said Keesee, who said that Pollard, 46, was not ill to his knowledge.
Keesee said he didn't know the cause of Pollard's death, explaining that "he did not wake up from his sleep."
The state medical examiner's office in Roanoke confirmed an autopsy was performed but declined to elaborate, referring a reporter to the Roanoke Police Department. Police ...
