Imagine what the world would be like if Garrett Morgan hadn't invented the traffic light, or if Richard Spikes hadn't developed the automatic gear shift, or if Alice Parker hadn't patented a central heating unit?
Those great innovations, and many others, were created by Blacks. Unfortunately, very little information is included in U.S. history text books that highlight the roles of the many Black trailblazers who have contributed to everything from music, art, and literature to medicine, politics and engineering.
