Q - What's causing the extraordinarily large gathering of crows that occurs every night about dusk near the Hiawatha light rail station next to Interstate Hwy. 94?
A - The birds are coming together to spend the night, in what are called roosts. This behavior is a hallmark of crows, although several species of birds do it. Before heading to roost, crows congregate in an area away from the final roosting site, usually an hour or two before complete darkness.
