Feb. 18--TUCSON, Ariz. -- After helping lead the White Sox to the finish line in the 2005 World Series, closer Bobby Jenks arrived Friday to explain his absence from several scheduled appearances. Jenks emphasized he had legitimate reasons for his no-shows at the annual SoxFest during the last weekend in January and at the White House and the Chicago Auto Show earlier this week. Jenks, who appeared slightly thinner on his 6-foot-3-inch frame than his listed 270 pounds, said he couldn't attend SoxFest because of the death of his uncle.
