When I was last in Brussels, one of my brothers gave me two books by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, Monsieur Ibrahim et les fleurs du Coran and Oscar et la Dame Rose. These books are a publishing sensation. Oscar sold over 400,000 copies in the first year; they have been on the best-selling lists in France, Belgium, Germany and Italy.
