Bird flu scare has hit poultry industry: NECC
Pune, Feb 20 (PTI) The scare of bird flu gaining ground in the country has hit the poultry industry hard though it is too early to estimate the revenue loss in the sector, National Egg Co-ordination Committee Chairperson Anuradha Desai said.
Desai, who had yesterday claimed that the birds were not affected by the virus but Ranikhet disease, told PTI here today that the lifting rate of chickens from the farms has dropped substantially from Rs 36 per kg to Rs 16 per kg.
