ABC "Good Morning America" co-hosts Charlie Gibson and Diane Sawyer will fill in for the injured Bob Woodruff on an interim basis, allowing "World News Tonight" to stick with its dual-anchor strategy in his absence.
Gibson and Sawyer will rotate as co-anchors for Elizabeth Vargas on "World News Tonight" while maintaining their hosting duties on "Good Morning America." ABC News prexy David Westin said Wednesday.
ABC previewed the pairings Tuesday night when Sawyer and Gibson co-hosted the State of the Union address and provided interviews and analysis from New York and Washington, D.C.
