Demetria Fuller has sent six kids to North Star school in Minneapolis, her husband's grade school, and she has more on the way.
Glancing toward the baby carrier where her 5-month-old napped, Fuller told school district officials last week that he should have the same chance at North Star that her 16-year-old had.
In the biggest school-closing wave in Minneapolis in 22 years, North Star stands out as the feisty school that's not going quietly. The district has closed 10 schools, with North Star one of four more slated to close in June.
The 30-year-old school claims a strong neighborhood loyalty. ...
