Feb. 21--Gwen Smith's desire to eat more healthfully started at Wild Oats Natural Marketplace on Southeast Division Street. Last week she made a rare stop at Wild Oats, and just in time: The store closed for good on Saturday.
But little will change for Smith, who says she's been shopping for months almost exclusively at New Seasons Market, which opened in September 2004 11 blocks west of Wild Oats.
"The people are friendlier who work there," the Mt. Tabor area resident said. "It is just a more pleasant place to go."
