ANAHEIM, CALIF. -- Sublingual immunotherapy, widely used for allergy control and prevention in Europe and South America, is starting to draw the attention of mainstream allergists in the United States, Dr. Jay M. Portnoy said at the annual meeting of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
The topic, once relegated to the "unconventional and unproven therapies" chapters of allergy textbooks and scoffed at by leaders of American academic societies, was prominently featured at the meeting.
